Sony Tianchi aka Xperia E2 To Sport Octa-Core MediaTek Chipset With LTE

The Sony Xperia E2 that we have been hearing about for sometime now isn't going to be a small phone. Unlike the Xperia E, which only has a 3.5-inch display and is powered by a single-core processor, the Xperia E2 is the entry-level ODM device for 2013 with a 6-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display and comes packing a 2 GHz octa-core MediaTek chipset, with integrated LTE radio. A few months ago, rumors about a Sony phabletcodenamed "Tianchi" surfaced. As it turns out, Tianchi is none other than the Xperia E2.

Sony is expected to officially announce the Xperia E2 either at CES next month or MWC 2014 in February.
