Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom and Galaxy S5 Active Tipped To Arrive in 2014

While some might consider the upcoming Galaxy S5 amongst greatest devices to be announced this year, others might not think in a same manner. Beyond the Galaxy S5, the South Korean giant plans to release much talked about sequels to the Galaxy S4 Zoom and the Galaxy S4 Active, according to a couple of reports.

Back in 2013, Samsung launched a rugged Android handset, the Galaxy S4 Active. Now once again, the company has plans to release a tough and rugged handset, dubbed the Galaxy S5 Active. ET News reports that Samsung aims to expect 20-30% of the total S5 sales to be of the S5 Active variant. Nothing much is known as far as its internal hardware or form factor.

In another set of reports, Samsung may come with the Galaxy S5 Zoom, a legitimate successor to Galaxy S4 Zoom. Reportedly, the said phone has been found listed as "Samsung Mobile Camera for R&D purpose" on Zauba, an Indian import website. The listing showed "SM-C115 Samsung Mobile Camera."

Well, Samsung had launched multiple variants of flagship devices in the past , just like it did with the Galaxy S4. So, it would not be a surprise if Samsung won't come up the Galaxy S5 Zoom and Galaxy S5 Active. Samsung is expected to announce more details around speculated devices later this month at the Mobile World Congress (MWC).

For Samsung, it is even more important to look at its upcoming lineup, since the company recent earnings were hurt by a drop in margins in its mobile phone division.

While Apple Inc , Samsung nearest competitor shifted 51 million iPhones in Q1 2014, an all-time quarterly record, compared to 47.8 million in the year-ago quarter.
