Nokia Lumia 525 Hands On: First Look

Launched as the successor to the Nokia Lumia 520, the new Lumia 525 which made an entry into the smartphone ecosystem a couple of months ago is now coming to Indian market next month. The new member of Nokia Lumia budget series looks exactly similar to its predecessor but has come up with some specs enhancement in the form of hardware update.

It will be available in black, white, orange, and yellow colors which can be swapped via removable shells. Further, the Nokia Lumia 525 features a 4-inch WVGA screen, 5MP rear camera (without flash), expandable storage, running on a dual-core Qualcomm S4 processor and double the RAM, 1GB, as compared to the 520, thus supporting newer apps and games that require more memory.

At the Nokia Strategy Sharing Summit 2013 which happened in Goa, GizBot got an opportunity to spend a few minutes with the device and we felt that if you are in a market to buy a phone which has some cool hardware, looks beautiful, feels nicer all on a budget, then you should pick a Lumia 525 from the shelves when it gets released in the market.

Nokia is known for coming up with phones which are sturdy, holds consistency along with offering some great features at great budget and when it comes to Nokia Lumia 525, the successor to the most popular Windows Phone, the Lumia 520, comes with more RAM, swappable covers and 1,430mAh battery, which is replaceable all in one package.

The only thing where Nokia has compromised is the display, which is not too vibrant, especially when compared to Lumia 1520 or a Lumia 1320 kept next to it in the experience zone and also the flash button, which is there in almost all the budget handsets these days.

Otherwise, its a great phone, Lumia 525 will come with 8GB of onboard storage and free apps like Here Maps, Here Drive, and Here Transit, Camera apps, Mix Radio and more. Also, the design which is again similar to Lumia 520 is based on the Monoblock touch form factor where the Volume keys, Camera key, Power/Lock key are placed aptly.

Nokia Lumia 525 supports Micro-SIM and also comes with free cloud storage of 7GB via SkyDrive. Dimensions of the phone are 119.9 mm x 64 mm x 9.9 mm and weight is 124 gram.
