BlackBerry's BBM Voice and Video Calling To Arrive on Android, iOS in 2014


Just yesterday, Blackberry inked an agreement with the South Korean LG, according to which, Blackberry's instant Messaging App BBM will come per-installed in LG phones of which, the first one will be LG G Pro Lite.

Now the Canadian QWERTY smartphone maker has announced some more updates that could excite most of the BBM users in Android and iOS devices.

The updates which are announced through the Blog post by BlackBerry says that the BBM services which is currently available for the Android and iOS devices lack some important and exciting features that are offered in the BB platform.

The company is in fact talking about the BBM Channels, BBM Voice and Video calling as well. Thus the company will be working towards offering the same to Android and iOS users in the upcoming year. However, the company has not confirmed the schedule for the roll out of these new features. But most tech giants are of the opinion that it could be probably by the Q1 of 2014.

Those who are not aware of the feature, the BBM Channels that would arrive on both Android and iOS platforms sometime next year, will allow the suers to join conversations happening within the BBM community beyond your contact list. By creating your own channel you can start conversations sparked by your thoughts, ideas and passions. Subscribing to a BBM channel lets you join conversations with others who share your interests.

While the BBM Voice and Video calling features are self-explanatory. But it is said to come later. Thus users will be able to Benefit from free voice calls to any BBM contact anywhere in the world as long as your device is connected to the Internet.
