Baking Soda

Baking soda is one of the most common home remedies for itchy skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties and acts as a natural acid neutralizer. Make a paste by mixing three parts of baking soda with one part of water. Apply this mixture on the affected areas and keep it for half an hour. Then wash it off with water. However, you have to take care that you do not use baking soda or broken skin or open wounds.


Oatmeal contains antioxidant compounds which has great anti-irritation and a soothing effect on your skin. Using unprocessed oatmeal flour is even more effective in treating itchy skin. Mix the unprocessed oatmeal flour with water to make a smooth paste. Apply this paste all over the itchy area. Cover it with a cloth and let it stay for 30 minutes. Then wash off with water. Cold Water

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is an excellent remedy for itchy skin. It has a cooling effect on skin and is anti-inflammatory. It also contains vitamin E which is excellent for treating burns and itching. If you have an aloe vera plant at home then just cut off a leaf and apply the juice to the itching area. If you do not have a plant then you can apply the aloe vera gel available at the drug stores.

Essential Oils
